Group Training

Small group training at L1 Performance is the perfect way to get the results you want with the expert advice of our personal trainers but in a team environment, motivated to work with a group of up to 6 people.

Unlike exercise classes done in traditional gyms, an L1 group training session gets you out on the gym floor training effectively with personal training-style activities, being monitored closely by your coach to ensure maximum benefit.

Using trusted sports-based exercises, our experienced personal trainers will guide you through sessions that will not only give you the results you want fast, but also benefit you in the long run. We don’t just focus on short term goals – we want to make sure you continue to feel healthier, happier and more motivated in the long term too.

At L1 we have four main classes that are done on the gym floor.

Group Training – Taken by one of L1’s senior trainers and is designed to improve your form/technique whilst focusing on strength and power.

Burn – Delivered by our experienced BURN instructors, this class is a mixture of High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), Circuit Training, and Functional Fitness.

Blitz – Our metabolic conditioning class combines classic high intensity interval training with TRX, kettle bells, weights, plyometrics and body weight exercises.

Muay Thai – This class is a mixture of both pad workout and circuits. Designed to train you in a different way each class.

Simple. It’s effective. It’s tailored to what you need as an individual, but delivers the heightened motivation you get from being part of a team. Our group classes are small, which allows our coaches to keep an eye on every individual and get to know everyone on a personal level.

At L1, we know that one training plan doesn’t fit all, so each group session is tailored specifically to the abilities and goals of the people in the group. Whether you want to lose weight, build muscle or just improve your general fitness, we can help you to reach your target. It doesn’t matter what level of fitness you are – whether you’re a beginner or a bit more experienced, our classes are made up of exercises that allow people of all levels to train together like athletes.

We offer a range of different group training sessions from Thai boxing through sport specific training to athletic development. This offers the opportunity to select specific sessions best suited to you.

At L1 we wanted to create a unique gym in Leeds where you have access to the latest state of the art equipment in a bright and spacious environment. We have carefully considered the layout of the gym to help create the space for the most efficient and effective work outs.

L1 offers a relaxing and supportive environment and premium facilities for changing and showering.

We adopt an inclusive approach and welcome first time visitors, who may be at the start of their health and fitness journey, with the same respect as we pay to the professional athletes who use our facilities.

And after your session, you can refuel and relax in our health café.

All you need is your basic kit; top, bottoms and TRAINING shoes. We provide the rest for you; towels, toiletries and of course equipment.

We advise that you come to L1 FIVE minutes before the sessions starts, so that you have time to get ready and get the most out of your session time.

You’ll be greeted upon arrival at the reception desk and we will show you where the changing facilities and studios are.

Group Training

Kyle provides a general approach to group training with no rigid theme; they vary from session to session. One session you could be doing a kettlebell and squat workout, the next could be upper body work and free weights.

Lewis provides sport specific group training as well as athletic development for all levels.

Paul provides a Thai boxing theme, for all abilities! You’ll be paired up with someone who has some more experience so that you can learn together. Paul combines his Thai boxing, personal training and strength & conditioning expertise to deliver great sessions.
